The Bay of Fundy and New Brunswick's most beautiful Tall Ship "Jolly Breeze of St Andrews" provide a spectacular setting for weddings, pre or post wedding receptions, pirate/wench parties and guest reunions.
The Jolly Breeze enjoys comfortable seating, teak decks, exotic wood work, and the romantic setting of being on a classic Tall Ship. The charming cabins below deck include a head (bathroom), salon (living room), galley (kitchen) and sleeping cabins. The salon is heated if required and features a large mahogany dining table on which food trays may be placed. The captains chart table is a traditional place for signing the marriage certificates.
Highlights of a Tall Ship wedding include having the couple
raise a sail together
(those who sail together, stay together!).
There are many great photo opportunities such as steering the ship,
group photos at the bow and catching people mingling as they stroll
the decks. At the time of your vows, the captain will document
the Latitude and Longitude for a keepsake.
A variety of beer, spirits and wine are available from the ships bar. Champagne or sparkling punch may be arranged to toast the bride and groom.
Special music may be played for the brides "grand" entrance, the first dance, or simply in the background. There is power available on board if live music is chosen or for speeches and toasts. Food may be catered locally and served aboard by our hostess. We can prepare platters such as cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, and cookies.
Homemade soup is included in the pricing for afternoon trips and a continental breakfast is included for morning tours
Options include a 3.5 hour whale watching and wildlife tour. In this case, the couple may have the wedding ceremony in the Passamaquoddy Bay on the way out to see the whales. Then relaxes to enjoy the whale watching and share a toast, speeches or music on the return tour. Others prefer a serene sailing cruise (no motor) for 2 to 3.5 hours on the Passamaquoddy Bay and the historic St. Croix river (no whales in this area). Choosing a time at sunset adds romance and beauty.
Departure is from St. Andrews main wharf.
Parking is available on the wharf or a short walk from most hotels (3/4 mile from the Algonquin). Transportation including limousines can be arranged through HMS Transportation.
